It’s time to think about Fall plans.
Everyone’s going back to school. Dance classes will be resuming soon. The weather is cooler, the days are shorter, and soon enough the leaves will be changing (the picture above is from last year).
My Fall Plans
So what am I doing this fall? The two events that used to anchor my autumn plans, LVBDI and Waking Persephone, are not happening. A lot of events that I would like to do happen to be falling exactly on the day that I will be back in AZ for a wedding. I don’t have a lot of specific dance stuff to plan around.
As I mentioned before, I want to put some more time into getting back to basics. It’s definitely time for a tune-up. And as the weather gets cooler, and hopefully rainier, I know I’ll get the DIY itch. I’ve got a few costuming projects to work on, that should keep me busy possibly all the way into the winter months.
I want to come up with something fun to do for my October performance(s). Halloween season is always a good excuse to get weird with my music and costuming choices, but I haven’t settled on anything yet.
Fall also seems to be the time when a lot of the next year’s events get announced, or workshop registration opens. I’ll be spending some time picking out workshops for Cues & Tattoos, and maybe registering to do 8 Elements Phase IV if I can budget for it.
To help fund next year’s dance adventures, I need to finish my costume closet and jewelry purge. I made a start on it before JamBallah to make a little shopping money, but there’s still a lot more that needs to be photographed and sold off. Hopefully I’ll find some local belly dance swap meet type events to take it to as well.
Your Fall Plans
Now it’s your turn! What are you going to do this autumn? Are you traveling, or staying close to home? Got any costume projects of your own to work on? Let me know in the comments or on Facebook!
