I have some great stuff for you this week! Let’s get right into it.
An Enlightening Makeup Tutorial
It’s 2018, and there’s no excuse for makeup companies to keep ignoring the vast and beautiful variety of human skin tones.
Beauty Find of the Week
The Prism Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills is on sale for $32 at Sephora and Ulta. I don’t have this one yet, and I’m struggling to resist it because Throne is speaking to me. Check out this tutorial from Oh, Jolie! for ideas on how to use it.
Support the Arts
Hossam Ramzy has a crowdfunding campaign for his next album. You can get a download of the album for a $11ish contribution, and there’s a lot of other cool rewards at higher pledge levels.
Speaking of music, Sabriye Tekbilek has a great website of lyrics for some of the more popular belly dance songs. You can also purchase an album from her that has these songs, without and without vocals. Seems like a great resource for gigging belly dancers and teachers! I picked it up this past week but haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet.
If You’re in Seattle or Tacoma…
I hope you’ve already got your tickets for Horrific! I’ve been looking forward to this since last year. I can’t wait for a night of horror themed belly dance. And here’s the thing: I don’t watch a lot of horror movies. I haven’t seen most of the iconic ones from the 80s. I still love this show, because it doesn’t require intimate knowledge of the genre, just a willingness to enjoy a night that’s going to swing between creepy and hilarious. It helps that some of the state’s best belly dancers are involved in the show. Anyway, don’t miss it.
That’s it for this week!
