On Saturday, Fire & Gold Belly Dance performed at the Pima County Fair! This is our first year at the Fair and we decided to use this momentous occasion as the perfect event to debut our newest choreography and our new skirts, too! We’ve been working hard both on the dance (which was created by Ashley Grove, seen above in the middle of this picture) and on the costume. Ok, ok, the skirts were actually pretty easy to make but a lot of us also felt the desire to add to our black bra/belt sets to make them even fancier. Trust me, there was a lot of costuming going on in my house at the very least.
Anyway, we had a great time at the Fair! We had a lot of family and friends who came out to support us, and a lot of new fans in the audience. We were sharing the stage with a really cool steel drums band, and I think they’re playing again next weekend, so if you come to see us dance you should plan to listen to some awesome island music, too. As a reminder, we will be dancing Saturday, April 26th at 6pm and 9pm on the corner stage. We’re conveniently located between a fried Oreo cart and a hot tub booth, so honestly, we might decide to go live at Pima County Fair. I mean, what more do you need in life?
